Brian Rumbelow
From CamputersLynx.info
Brian joined Greenwood Design Services (GWDS) as a Software Engineer in July 1983. The exact details of the relationship between GWDS and Camputers are unknown, but to most people it was the same company. Both had Dick Greenwood as Managing Director and Geoff Sore as Technical Director and the main focus of work was the Lynx home micro.
Brian worked with Ron Penrose, George Kendall and Mike Berhand in a small office over an Indian Restaurant on Hills Road, Cambridge. As more Lynx units were sold he moved to the Camputers office on Bridge Street where he developed some teach yourself French, German and Italian language software which was never released and answered technical support phone calls.
After Camputers went under he worked in various IT roles in Cambridge and then I met his wife to be. She was a Kiwi and had always wanted to return to New Zealand so they moved to Wellington in 1997. Brian is currently the IT Manager for an international consultancy that has its roots in Paris. He also volunteers for a local charity putting computers in homes around the Wellington region.
